Meet our pears
Variety originating from England popularised on the European continent. Medium-sized fruits of varying shape. Barrel-shaped fruit at the calyx, tapering towards the peduncle. Shape elongated, spindle-shaped and conical. The skin is dull, greenish without blush with a visible brown russeting often covering more than 50% of the fruit surface. Moose-yellow flesh, tender, very sweet and juicy.
Availability – October to March
Dormouse pear – A pear tree native to France. Large fruits with an egg-oval or blunt-cone shape. The skin is smooth, greenish to slightly yellow in colour, without russeting. Flesh yellowish-white, medium-grained with a sweet and vinous taste.
